Walking out of the CVS on my block, I saw a plastic bag stuck in a tree branch. I laughed to myself thinking of the bag snagger essay from Gone to NewYork: Adventures in the City by Ian Frazier, I’d read a few years ago.
When the missus who was walking lockstep with me asked “what’s so funny?” I realized that I’d let out a grunt. I replied “Nothing. Just an inside joke.”
She prodded me to narrate the joke, to which I replied “For it to be funny for you, you would have had to read this essay on bags in trees by one of my favorite authors Ian Frazier.” She replied, ” Is this a ploy to buy more books? “
